what the Press have been saying about Phil's Poems.... On the 13th of January the Avon Advertiser printed Moudon's press release about Phil's book. Really they shouldn't have printed it until publication date and it would have been nice if Moudon's phone number, (01264) 783980, and the price, £5.95, had been right. Here's what they wrote:
On the next page the Avon Advertiser mentioned the poetry reading on the 14th but, sadly, most Advertiser readers didn't get their copy until the day of the show or later.
The Andover Advertiser also mentioned the poetry reading at the Cricklade Theatre:
Classic Gold aired an interview with Phil and both Classic Gold and 2-Ten FM announced the book and poetry reading on their news programmes. On the 15th of January Phil was invited down to the BBC South studios in Southampton for a link through to Radio 4's You And Yours studio in London. Clair Burnette, the features editor for You And Yours was putting together a series of features for Mental Health Week on You And Yours. She asked Phil to read a few of his poems and to talk about Tardive Diskinesia (an illness caused by some psychiatric drugs) and Sectioning. In the end the feature on Sectioning got replaced with a feature on Mental Illness In Older People - it is difficult not to assume that this was because Sectioning proved too volatile a subject. Here's Phil's Visitor Pass:
Then there was the publication itself. Here's what the Andover Advertiser had to say:
That is about it from the press at present. We may have soundbytes from some of the radio coverage soon. Back to Moudon's Homepage . |
