Open Heart Music is part of Action Capital Limited (click here for contact details). It is a music publishing company set up by Phil Jaquiery in order to get some songs published. So far we have made one demo tape. The tape consists of three songs - Sometimes, Left You Behind and Bad Girl. The duplicates have just been delivered (duplication was done by RTS in Merseyside). The demo was recorded at Swamp Productions in Sunningdale and John Hardman at Swamp has been very involved in producing the demo - doing a lot of the session work, mixing and having a large influence in the production.

Who is this dude Phil Jaquiery?

Phil Jaquiery (also known as Phil Z'vil in Zürich!) was born in Invercargill, New Zealand more years ago than he cares to remember :-)

Phil has been writing songs and poems since he was about 16 years old. He plays guitar and keyboards. Phil has worked as a shop assistant, professional photographer, actor, lighting and sound engineer, microlight pilot, adventure training instructor, engineering machinist, van driver, army officer, handyman, fruit picker, pheasant plucker, telephone marketing, trainer and programmer. Good training to be a musician :-)

Who made yer web page?

One of the other services that Phil and Action Capital are involved in is HTML (Hypertext Markup Language or creating web pages to you and me).

Swamp Productions

Swamp is a recording/publishing company owned by John Hardman. John has a continuosly upgraded studio capable of production right up to master standard. John plays guitar, keyboards, bass, flute and is pretty good on drums too. John also gives music lessons in all of the above and vocals as well. He was one of the first people to teach 'rock' keyboards at a time when all keyboard tuition used the Royal School of Music training.

John's studio consists of a 24 track desk with a Tascam MSR 24 track recorder, Roland D-70 synth, about 18 assorted guitars (electric and accoustic) and more rack units than you can imagine. He can master to 4mm DAT, Umatic or analog (Revox) tape, is getting into video and is happy to do session work.

John also has a band - Beats Working - and they have already recorded a couple of LPs and their first video.

What kind of music is it?

Well, Phil writes mostly ballads, carts them off to the studio and then with a bit of work from John they end up Rock ballads :-). Actually the music covers a few different categories but most of the songs are fairly unique. That kind'a makes it hard to categorise.

Phil tends to write pretty lyrical, structured, rhyming stuff and John has added a rock influence so the above comments weren't so far out after all.

Can I have a listen?

Short answer.... YES!.

Well, you can listen to "Bad Girl" (it should be playing in the background right now, or you can download it). "Bad Girl" is one of the songs on my demo tape but it is 2.4Mb and it'll take a while to download.
